New Italian “pop-up” trattoria to open at Pine Cliffs Resort

An Italian “pop-up” trattoria is the new gastronomic novelty this summer at Albufeira’s Pine Cliffs Resort

The trattoria – an Italian-style eatery that is generally less formal than a ristorante – will be located at the resort’s O Grill restaurant and will serve “traditional and authentic” Italian dishes, the resort says.

But this is not the only new gastronomic experience that the resort has up its sleeve for the summer. Pine Cliffs will also become the only resort in Portugal to serve Artisani ice creams, a national brand of artisanal ice creams which are made mostly with seasonal fruit grown in Portugal. They will be available at all restaurants within the resort.

Pine Cliffs has also announced that Portuguese porcelain brand Vista Alegre has designed two exclusive collections of dinnerware for the resort’s Corda Café and Maré restaurants, which will be used to serve some of their most iconic dishes, such as Maré’s Mariscada, a seafood extravaganza priced at €78 for two people or €150 for four.

The resort will once again be providing a delivery service entitled ‘Pine Cliffs Eats’. Following the success of the initiative last year, meals will again be delivered directly to rooms, apartments or villas.

Says the resort, “environmental concerns were taken into account: deliveries are made on bicycles and meals are delivered in eco-friendly packages”.

Meantime, the resort also guarantees it is maintaining its high hygiene and safety standards and will be providing Covid-19 tests to its guests as part of a partnership with the Germano de Sousa laboratory. PCR tests will cost €100 per person, while antigen tests will cost €35. Each one can be performed at the resort with test results returning in no more than 24 hours.
