Gusto Restaurant Reopens with a Unique Gastronomic Experience

Algarve’s Gusto Restaurant reopens and is ready to take guests on a unique gastronomic experience

Conrad Algarve’s Gusto by Heinz Beck, in Almancil, is officially reopening as of July 7, debuting a new look.

The Michelin-star restaurant presents “an innovative menu of classic Mediterranean cuisine with modern flair”, aiming to establish Conrad Algarve as a leading gourmet destination in the area, according to chef Heinz Beck himself. The real ‘Gusto journey’ starts with a mixology experience at Gusto Bar with one of their signature cocktails, followed by an array of gastronomic delights created and executed at the finest level, inspired by the three-Michelin-Star consultant chef.

At Gusto, guests can choose from à la carte options or elect a tasting menu (featuring five or eight courses), complemented by a tailored wine pairing from the sommelier. As for signature dishes, one of the highlights is the Fagottelli Carbonara — a classic from Heinz Beck, which is always on the menu — amongst many other delectable dishes showcasing some of the best seafood that the Atlantic coast has to offer. Whilst the heart of the restaurant’s gourmet foundation was established by Heinz Beck, Gusto’s seasoned chef Liborio Buonocore strives to foster that level of culinary creativity.

Born in Vico Equense (a well-known city in the culinary Italian scene), Liborio was first invited to join chef Beck’s kitchen family at Café Les Paillotes in Pescara, Italy, and in 2013 he moved to the Algarve to start at Gusto. After working alongside the renowned chef for three years, Liborio seized an opportunity to further develop his skills in France before returning to Portugal and eventually back to Gusto, where he now leads the team as the restaurant’s resident chef.

The restaurant houses a lively, open kitchen, where guests are able to marvel at the talented chefs’ in action. At Gusto Bar guests can enjoy refreshing cocktails crafted by skilled mixologists. With unique menus featuring beverages infused with fresh fruit and savoury spices, it is easy to see how the Gusto Bar was recognised for both the Best Bar Menu and Best Hotel Bar awards at last year’s Lisbon Bar Show.

Gusto and Gusto Bar will be opened from Tuesday to Sunday in July and August, and from September will be back to the normal opening period from Wednesday through Sunday from 7pm-10pm and 6pm-1am, respectively.
