Morgan decided that today’s cars were too generic, and so it revisited the early 20th century to resurrect a great idea for driving enthusiasts

Henry Morgan was born in the small village of Moreton Jeffries in Herefordshire, England, on August 1, 1881. One hundred and thirty-five years after his birth, the brand carrying his name is one of the most iconic in the world, alongside names such as Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini. Morgan doesn’t build supercars, and its sports cars are unlike any other car on the road, but the constant evolution of its craftsmanship when building a car has earned it a unique place in the market and a legion of fans and customers, standing by the brand decade after decade.

The story of Morgan all began with the first Three-Wheeler, the original prototype of which was built by Henry Morgan in 1909. In a move that could not pay greater tribute to its own history, Morgan recently released a new version of its most emblematic model ever for the 21st century. The new Three-Wheeler is a breath of fresh air, sure to make waves in the entire car industry, which is a little lost at the moment, after the advent of the electric car, autonomous driving, the need to reduce emissions and a large proportion of customers who are more concerned about a car’s iPhone connectivity than the car itself.

The Morgan Three-Wheeler is made for people who still see cars as an object of pleasure and who deem hedonism on wheels as something to be cherished and enjoyed to the fullest. With a tubular chassis, with two wheels at the front and one at the back, the Morgan is a car like no other, offering a unique and incomparable driving experience. The two passengers sit behind a V2 engine, produced by S&S according to a Harley-Davidson specification (albeit with specific tuning for Morgan, which, with 1983cc, delivers 82 horsepower), conveyed to the rear wheel via a five-speed transmission taken from the Mazda MX-5, which is absolutely perfect.

Weighing just over half a tonne, the Three-Wheeler is surprisingly fast and every curve is an opportunity for a slight drift, perfectly and safely controlled. The interior is 100% customisable, with its exclusiveness guaranteed, as this is a car that, given its new condition, is already a future classic – an intriguing fact, seeing as its origins date back more than 100 years. Irreverent and great fun, the Morgan Three-Wheeler is the most modern way of living the greatest adventures of the 1920s, ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s in the 21st century.
