A grand comeback now under the wing of the AMG racing department
For many years, the SL was the flagship model of Mercedes-Benz; a car-shaped dream that was the epitome of everything the German brand stood for in terms of engineering and design.
The truth is that the SL generation lost some of its sparkle and, with the introduction of the cabrio version of the AMG-GT, Mercedes itself created a valid alternative to its greatest symbol. However, the brand has now decided to restore the historic model back to its old glory, leaving AMG also responsible for revamping what is perhaps the most famous convertible in the world.
The new AMG-SL is reborn with a strikingly modern and sporty aesthetic and comes with a portentous 4-litre biturbo V8 engine that can deliver up to 585 horsepower in the SL 63 version. With carefully crafted aerodynamics and a new canvas hood for overall reduced weight, the SL has a personality that leans more than ever towards the sporting side, but which does not forget the tradition of the roadster and the need to combine elegance with comfort.
The new 2+2 layout adds an important practical element, the cabin is synonymous with luxury and good taste and the latest generation Mercedes MBUX infotainment system is among the best on the market. It is a grand comeback.
