The AMG 45 creates a new paradigm in the segment of compact sports cars

The AMG line is becoming increasingly widespread within the Mercedes range, as almost all of the brand’s models have their own high-performance version.

Constant technological evolution, allied to a goal of always putting their cars above the competition, elevated the entry-level model into the AMG universe to a level never seen before. If the A35’s 306 horsepower wasn’t already impressive, the smallest representative of the Affalterbach department now comes in the form of the A45 version, with 387 horsepower and, in the A45S, with a massive 421 pure German horsepower.

Bearing in mind that a Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 has 385 horsepower, you can clearly see the feat of taking this power from a two-litre block and still offer typical Mercedes-Benz reliability. Combined with an eight ratio AMG-Speedshift DCT-8G, the A45S can reach 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds and, on a winding road, it’s objectively faster than an AMG C63, thanks to greater agility and lower weight.

The extremely aggressive appearance expresses the sporty character of the model, whilst inside the steering wheel in alcantara and the fabulous AMG seat covers perfectly reflect a philosophy born from competition.
