Internationally acclaimed pianist Nikola Meeuwsen will present the works of four composers from the 19th: Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Schumann

The Christmas concert, organised by the Algarve History Association (AHA) will take place on December 28 at Quintinha da Música, near Tavira, at 4pm.

The association is delighted to announce the return of the Amsterdam-born Nikola Meeuwsen, who has played for AHA on four previous occasions and has grown from a junior prodigy at the piano into an international star.

Nikola’s programme will include works by four composers from the 19th century: Bagatellen op 126 Beethoven; Drei Klavierstücke D.946 Schubert; Intermezzi op 117 Brahms; Sonate op 11 Schumann.

As well as having one or two days in the Algarve to rest, Nikola uses this concert as a dress rehearsal for a major concert that he will give in Amsterdam in early January.

“This programme is very attractive, and we here in the remote Algarve are lucky that Nikola finds a small space for us in his crowded life,” said Peter Booker from the AHA.
