The hotel is set to undergo extensive refurbishment and rebrand in 2026
Currently managed by DETAILS – Hospitality, Sports, Leisure and part of the Dom Pedro Collection, the Dom Pedro Vilamoura Hotel is set to undergo an extensive update to become a Hyatt Regency hotel.
The first phase of renovations is scheduled to run until the end of summer 2025 with plans for the hotel to be fully rebranded as a Hyatt Regency by summer 2026.
In a press release, DETAILS stated that the hotel, located just 20 minutes from Faro International Airport, will undergo a dramatic overhaul of its lobby, restaurant, fitness centre and outside spaces, joining a long list of major improvements across the resort.
In addition to a completely new lobby area and new central bar, the new Hyatt Regency hotel will feature an upgraded check-in experience, a completely redesigned restaurant, with a BBQ pit and live cooking stations, a refurbished octagonal bar on its terrace, and contemporary and elegant furnishings throughout.

As Francisco Moser, Hospitality CEO at DETAILS, explained, “Working with a globally recognised, high-profile market leader like Hyatt enhances the perception of Vilamoura as a must-visit destination in Portugal and Europe. This rebranding will undoubtedly bring a distinctive and refined element to our stunning portfolio, reflecting the high standards that the brand represents.”
“This is an exciting project that will add value to the entire region by attracting audiences who are loyal to the brand. The renovation of infrastructure, incorporation of valuable insights and the prime location will make this accommodation the perfect combination for our guests.”
Nuno Galvão Pinto, Regional Vice President of Development Europe at Hyatt, commented: “This exciting project showcases the flexibility and comprehensive support we provide to owners pursuing a conversion. We are committed to collaborating closely with the owner and DETAILS throughout the extensive renovations leading to the rebranding. The project also aligns seamlessly with our expanded leisure strategy and strengthens our leadership in the resort segment across Europe. We are also excited to continue expanding in Portugal and across Iberia.”
