Lagoa welcomes back a new edition of the Jazz Fest starting this July 19

Lagoa Jazz Fest will feature musical performances from established artists from around the world

Sítio das Fontes Municipal Park in Estômbar will once again welcome the famous Lagoa Jazz Fest, in the perfect setting by the riverside, on July 19 (Friday), 20 (Saturday) and 21 (Sunday).

The 19th edition of the music festival will feature three days of top jazz performances in a unique natural setting.

From traditional to cutting-edge, this year’s line-up includes a wide range of high-quality jazz projects featuring harp, koto, harmonica, cimbalom, bandoneon, vibraphone, and more. Jazz lovers will enjoy solos, duos, trios, quartets, quintets, and even big bands.

On the first day, July 19, Brazilian singer Lilian Raquel will open the festival with a performance with Cláudio César Ribeiro, while Eduardo Cardinho Sextet takes the stage for the second part.

The second day, July 20, will welcome Swiss/Portuguese duo Michael Arbenz and Ricardo Toscano, followed by the Spanish quartet Andrés Barrios.

The last night of this year’s edition, July 21, will welcome international performances by The Cuban Cello/Piano Project and Japanese musician Toku will take the stage for a grand finale.

Additionally, there will be an exhibition, street food stalls, merchandising, and a lounge area.

The Lagoa Jazz Fest is organised by the Municipality of Lagoa with Joaquim Andrés and António Palma (curator and creative director). Over 250 musicians from all over the world have participated in the event since its first edition in 2003.

Doors open at 7pm and close at 1am, with concerts scheduled to start at 10pm.

Tickets cost €12 (20% off with a cultural passport, Lagoa Social card, or Rota do Petisco passport) and are available here and at the usual ticket outlets.
