MotoGP: Worlds’ best motorcyclists return to the Algarve this March 22-24

Algarve is ready for MotoGP this March 22-24, 2024


The Algarve International Racetrack in Portimão will welcome the second stage of the MotoGP World Championship between Friday and Sunday, with Portugal’s Miguel Oliveira on the list of riders

This season’s MotoGP World Championship’s second stage takes place in Portimão at the Algarve International Racetrack, for the Portuguese Grand Prix, where visitors will witness a lot of speed and adrenaline, on a 4.6-kilometre-long (2.891 miles), 15 turns track known as the Algarvian roller coaster”.

Among the highlights are Francesco Bagnaia, the two-time World Champion who won the Portuguese GP last year and also finished first in this season’s Qatar GP on March 10-12, as well as former World Champions Fabio Quartararo and Marc Márquez.

In this second stage of the Grand Prix calendar of 2024, Miguel Oliveira, who performed a stunning win in 2020, will be one of the 22 MotoGP riders, this year with a new bike and team.

With a capacity for 100,000 spectators, this weekend promises to be an unforgettable motorsports experience, with many races, training sessions, concerts, food stalls and the possibility of interacting with the riders all planned for the fans coming from all over the world, with a Fan Zone open at 4pm on Thursday, 8.15am on Saturday, and 8.30am on Friday and Sunday.

Tickets for the Portuguese Grand Prix races are still available and can be purchased online, with prices starting at €55 for a one-day ticket for the Sunday race and €65 for a weekend pass. VIP tickets are also for sale.

The championship closes in Europe on November 15-17, Valencia, Spain.

General opening and closing hours for the Algarve International Racetrack:

Doors open: 8am (March 22) and 7.45am (March 23 and 24)

Start of track activities: 9am (March 22), 8.40am (March 23) and 9.40am (March 24)

Doors close: 5.45pm (March 22 and 23) and 4.30pm (March 24)
