From December 6 to January 2, the Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort will be hosting an exhibition by Faro artist Hugo Batalha de Almeida.
Sailors e Eternitas depicts unlikely meetings between the world’s most famous sailors, mixing the old with the new, irony, sarcasm, humour and love. With his “talking” statues on canvas, Batalha creates a visual language through which he criticises society.
Hotel manager Marta Mota Pinto, who is passionate about art, has been working on developing a concept of a “lived-in gallery” at Anantara Vilamoura by giving local artists the possibility of using the hotel as their own gallery where they can exhibit their paintings during at least one month.
The main goal of the project is to “promote contact with the local community by revealing the best that the Algarve has to offer and give these artists all the necessary facilities to showcase their art to the guests that visit us every day from all around the world”.
