Over 65,000 racing enthusiasts expected to attend Portimão’s 2023 MotoGP this Friday

MotoGP, the top competition of the World Motorcycle Speed Championship, starts its season in Portugal this year, with the presence of historic F1 BMW Williams FW25 with Ralf Schumacher at the wheel

The Algarve International Racetrack in Portimão is gearing up to host the first race of the 2023 MotoGP season on Portuguese soil, promising a spectacular event starting this Friday, March 24.

The Algarve Tourism Association’s President João Fernandes reported to Lusa that “the expectations are really on a very high demand because we are aiming for more than 65,000 spectators, which is very, very significant, in terms of people coming to the Algarve, as most of the spectators come from other regions of Portugal or from abroad”.

The much-anticipated MotoGP season will have 21 stages, scheduled to take place throughout the year. Fans can look forward to a jam-packed programme of activities for all motorsport enthusiasts, from motorcycles to Formula 1.

With top riders and teams set to battle on the track, this year’s MotoGP promises to be an  unforgettable spectacle for all who attend.
