Hotel strengthens its focus on discreet, family-oriented luxury
At a time when hospitality and tourism are increasingly shaped by exclusive and personalised experiences, Wyndham Grand Algarve is responding with a creative, innovative, and engaging approach.

Guided by its “Family Luxury” concept, the hotel offers activities tailored to both children and adults, without compromising the understated sophistication that defines its location in Quinta do Lago.
The resort’s offering has become increasingly diverse. Its regular programme now includes group yoga classes, themed wine tastings featuring Portuguese organic wines, magic shows, live music, and pizza-making workshops for younger guests.
Water-based activities and family programmes have proved particularly popular among guests of all ages.

The addition of a new indoor swimming pool has also expanded the hotel’s wellness and entertainment options, from aqua fitness classes to moments of relaxation that complement the spa experience.

Throughout the summer, the focus remains on the pillars that define the resort: comfort, well-being, gastronomy, and proximity to the beach, with the hotel’s regular shuttle service to Gigi and Ancão beaches still ongoing.
Among this year’s upcoming additions is a new games room for guests aged 12 and over, developed in direct response to guest feedback.

“We are constantly evolving to become even closer with the families who visit us,” explains hotel manager Joana Silva.
Alongside leisure updates, the hotel is also reinforcing its sustainability commitments. Located within the Ria Formosa Natural Park, the property is preparing to achieve Level V of the Wyndham Green programme – the group’s highest sustainability distinction.
“We feel a responsibility to protect this unique ecosystem and ensure our operation is aligned with a more conscious future,” says Joana Silva.
On the culinary front, a new partnership with chef Olivier da Costa brings further developments. Following the introduction of the XXL concept within the hotel, Wyndham Grand Algarve is now preparing to open the Algarve’s first Osteria La Famiglia restaurant. “We felt this was the right moment to expand in Quinta do Lago and invest in an Italian restaurant, one of the preferred choices among the families who visit us,” reveals the hotel manager.

The resort is also expanding its residential component. With all suites now sold, the group is preparing to launch Remax Collection Lago, aiming to strengthen Wyndham’s presence within the luxury residential market through long-term accommodation aligned with the area’s exclusive lifestyle.

“We are investing in a different kind of product in response to the expectations of a very specific niche market, aligned with the concept of silent luxury that defines this special area,” says Joana Silva, adding that it will now be possible to rent private holiday spaces with the services of a five-star hotel.

Having served as hotel manager for the past year, Joana Silva is closely familiar with the property’s evolution. She joined Wyndham Grand Algarve three years ago as Director of Guest Experience and has accompanied the hotel’s development ever since.

“My journey has been a combination of dedication, growth, and a deep passion for hospitality,” she reflects.
Her progression, she says, happened naturally alongside the hotel’s own growth. “What stands out most is feeling that I have grown at the same time as the project itself. Being part of that evolution and knowing I contributed to it motivates me every day,” she admits.

Open year-round, Wyndham Grand Algarve caters to a wide variety of guests, from families and couples to golfers, groups of friends, and remote workers.

“We are equipped to welcome every type of traveller and meet different expectations,” says Joana, highlighting the hotel’s specialised teams capable of responding to all kinds of requests and needs.
Looking ahead, the ambition is clear: to consolidate Wyndham Grand Algarve as a leading reference in Quinta do Lago whilst continuing to elevate the contemporary hospitality experience in the Algarve.
