Montblanc celebrates 110 years of innovation

Founded in 1906, the master of excellence Montblanc celebrates its 110th anniversary

Montblanc, the name of which refers to Europe’s highest mountain and symbolises excellence, performance and craftsmanship, revolutionised the culture of handwriting and to this day continues to innovate, both in terms of functionality and design, creating a vast range of luxury products along the way.

The first of all its creations was inspired by mechanical innovations, witnessed by merchant Nehemias and engineers Eberstein and Voss, who together produced a revolutionary pen of the finest quality and with ‘non-leaking’ technology: the Rouge et Noir. Ever since, the driving force of the brand has been perfecting the culture of writing through the creation of products that combine technical innovation, greater functionality and expression of style. The most famous instrument to have resulted from this balance of form and function was the Meisterstück, in 1924.

What began 110 years ago, with writing instruments, later expanded to include leather goods, in 1926, and watches, in 1997. To celebrate this symbolic date, Montblanc has launched a new collection inspired by the first Rouge et Noir creation. The revamped version comes in a different size and with a more slender profile. The clip is decorated with vintage-looking stylised snake and the top of the lid, in resin, features the traditional Montblanc emblem in coral and ivory colours.

This pen, as a rollerball or ballpoint, combines the elegance of its inspiration with timeless functionality. The collection is completed with a special edition limited to 1906 units (the year the company was founded) and ranges of leather goods and jewellery.
