The Living in Portugal seminar events aim to provide US citizens with valuable first-hand information from expert speakers and exhibitors
It all started in February last year when Open Media, publishers of Essential Algarve staged their first “Living in Portugal” roadshow events in the USA, taking a group of Portuguese companies along to promote residency, investment and tourism in Portugal.
This was quickly followed by two more events in June 2023, and then a schedule of three more stateside roadshows was announced for this year, each covering three cities and visiting Austin, Atlanta and Boston in February, New York, Chicago and Toronto in June, and earlier this month, San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles.
The events aim to provide US citizens who have an interest in Portugal either for relocation or for a second home investment with valuable first-hand information from expert speakers and exhibitors.
This most recent roadshow gathered together 14 companies. Joining the Open Media team were EDGE – International Lawyers, Vida Capital, C2 Capital Partners, Ando Living, Fine & Country, Livingroup, Martinhal Luxury Resorts, Lumon, LifePlan Resorts, United Investments Portugal, Ombria Algarve, Sagres Vacations, and Medal Insurance.
Open Media’s CEO Bruce Hawker, who is the host and presenter at the events, says it is a mission accomplished for the company: “Along with our ‘Living in the Algarve’ events held here on the ground in Portugal and our other international events such as our upcoming South Africa roadshow in November, we are achieving our objective of making events an integral part of our operations alongside print and digital media. But, more importantly, we are harnessing the potential of the USA, which is our country’s fastest growing market in terms of both tourism and real estate sales.”
Plans are already in place for Open Media’s first USA roadshow of 2025 to be held between March 1 and 8, taking in Houston, Philadelphia and Boston.
