From May 24 to 30, the resort hosts an intergenerational golf event blending friendly competition, community spirit and tradition
Vale do Lobo Resort will welcome golfers from across the world for the 42nd Open Foursomes Week, taking place from May 24 to 30. Known for its friendly competition and strong sense of camaraderie, the event brings together returning players and new faces for what organisers describe as one of the most anticipated and enjoyable events in the Algarve’s golfing calendar.

With a community-driven atmosphere, this golfing week celebrates the social side of golf across two 18-hole courses. Guests also have access to the resort’s sporting, leisure and dining facilities, creating a full programme both on and off the fairways.

Alongside the main event, Vale do Lobo’s Junior Golf Academy is hosting a special camp from May 25 to 29, offering young players 10 hours of tuition across five days. The programme blends technical coaching with confidence-building on the course. Many of the children and teenagers who take part in the academy return to compete on the same fairways as their families, strengthening the intergenerational spirit that defines the event.
“Golf at Vale do Lobo is about much more than performance. We celebrate the enjoyment players derive from the game and the outstanding opportunity for social connections that it provides. Foursomes Week is the pinnacle of this, bringing together golfers from across the world to share in their passion for the invaluable social side of the game. The friendly format supports participation across the Vale do Lobo community – it’s one of our most anticipated events of the year,” shared Hernâni Estêvão, managing director at Vale do Lobo.
