Over 60 concerts across eight stages will fill the city’s historic Vila Adentro from September 3 to 5
Faro’s historic centre will once again become one of the Algarve’s biggest music stages as Festival F returns from September 3 to 5 for its 11th edition.
Taking over the streets of Faro, the festival will bring more than 60 concerts to eight stages, alongside exhibitions, talks, street performances, artisan markets and activities for families.
Dedicated primarily to Portuguese music, Festival F brings together some of the country’s best-known artists across pop, rock, hip-hop, electronic music, jazz and fado, whilst also welcoming performers from the wider Portuguese-speaking world.
Among the leading names confirmed for this year are fado singer Carminho, performing with the Algarve Orchestra, alongside The Gift, Bárbara Tinoco, D.A.M.A, Slow J, HMB, Moonspell, Áurea, Chico da Tina and Cape Verdean singer Nelson Freitas.
Brazilian rapper Tz da Coronel also joins the line-up, adding to a programme designed to reflect the diversity of contemporary Portuguese-language music.
The Algarve itself will be strongly represented, with around 30% of this year’s programme dedicated to artists from the region.
Across the three days, Festival F will feature 23 performances on September 3, 21 on September 4, and 22 on September 5. Concerts will be spread between the Ria, Sé, Quintalão, Fábrica, Museu, Músicos, Arco and Castelo stages, with Faro Castle once again hosting the popular Silent Party.
Since its first edition in 2014, Festival F has grown considerably, expanding from 5,000sqm to 38,500sqm, welcoming more than 350,000 visitors and hosting over 560 concerts during its history.
Three-day passes cost €54, whilst daily tickets are €22. Children aged between 3 and 12 can enter free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
The full programme and tickets are available on the Festival F website.
