Hilton expands luxury presence with new beachfront resort and branded residences
Hilton has announced the opening of Conrad Meia Praia Algarve, a new luxury beachfront resort set to welcome guests in spring 2027. Located along Meia Praia near Lagos, the property will form part of Hilton’s expanding portfolio of high-end hotels in Europe.
The development is a collaboration between PGIM Real Estate, Sonae Sierra and Iberian Hospitality Solutions (IHSP), marking their second partnership with Hilton. In addition to the hotel, the project will include 21 Conrad-branded residences.
Conrad Meia Praia Algarve will feature 116 rooms and suites, many with sea views and private pools. Facilities will include two signature restaurants, a beach club, several bars, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a Conrad Spa, fitness centre and flexible event spaces.
“Conrad Meia Praia Algarve represents a key milestone in Hilton’s growth strategy in the luxury segment in Europe,” said Dan Wakeling, Vice President of Development – Luxury & Residential for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Hilton.
The project is designed to blend modern architecture with the Algarve’s natural surroundings, offering a sense of connection to the region’s natural beauty. “As travellers seek a deeper connection to the world around them, this resort will provide an experience shaped by culture, craftsmanship, and authenticity,” said Dino Michael, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Hilton Luxury Brands.
With an investment of around €65 million, the project aims to strengthen the Algarve’s position as a leading luxury destination whilst expanding Hilton’s portfolio of premium hospitality developments. It follows the successful opening of Cénica Porto Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, in April 2024, also developed by Sonae Sierra and IHSP.
Conrad Meia Praia Algarve is expected to open alongside several new Hilton luxury properties across Europe.
