An unforgettable weekend at the Algarve International Racetrack, marking a heartfelt farewell for Miguel Oliveira

The MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix, held this weekend from November 7 to 9 at the Algarve International Racetrack, concluded with Italian rider Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) taking the win.

The opening ceremony was filled with emotion and energy. As always, MotoGP delivered plenty of adrenaline, featuring spectacular performances, from jet-flying pilots and parachutists descending from the sky to performing artists and motorcycle stunts.

The competition saw Italian rider Marco Bezzecchi leading from the first lap, maintaining an impressive pace throughout the race. Álex Márquez, finishing second, fought an intense battle with Pedro Acosta in the opening laps and once again managed to come out on top after also winning the Sprint race.

It was not yet time for Spanish prodigy Pedro Acosta to claim his first Grand Prix victory in the premier class, with the KTM rider securing third place.

Completing the top five were Fermín Aldeguer and Brad Binder, in fourth and fifth respectively, already some distance behind the leading trio.

The penultimate round of the MotoGP World Championship marked Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira’s (Yamaha) final race in Portimão, where he finished in 14th place.

The atmosphere was electric, with a heartfelt farewell to Miguel Oliveira, whose fans showed their deep affection and support, an unforgettable weekend for motorsports fans.

The 30-year-old shared that he was pleased with his performance at the Portuguese Grand Prix, achieving his “realistic goal” of finishing the penultimate race of the season “on the board”. Oliveira competed in his last MotoGP race on Portuguese soil before his expected move to the Superbike Championship in 2026.

The final race of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship, the Valencian Community Grand Prix, will take place from November 14 to 16, at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Spain.
