Construction is already ongoing, with the hotel set to feature 500 beds, 242 rooms, and eight suites
A €50-million project is being developed by Quinta da Boavista – Empreendimentos Turísticos SA, under the Emerson Group – an expansion of the existing Boavista Golf & Spa resort. Scheduled to open in 2027, the new hotel is expected to create 170 new jobs and will offer two restaurants, a conference centre, and a wide range of wellness facilities – including a covered area with a jacuzzi, Turkish bath, sauna, and a modern gym.
During a presentation to official bodies and partners in July, architect and project manager Luís Nóbrega explained that the hotel will “reinforce Quinta da Boavista’s vision, ambition and commitment to the quality tourism sector. It will be developed in two distinct phases and have 500 beds spread over 242 rooms and eight suites”.
The resort’s existing 18-hole championship golf course, designed by renowned architect Howard Swan, is also expected to be a major attraction for future guests.

Nóbrega highlighted that the new complex will complement the recently completed sports area in the south of the resort, which features an outdoor multi-sports court, two tennis courts, four padel courts, and a children’s playground.
Boavista Golf & Spa is already regarded as a benchmark in the region, “recognised for its natural beauty, high-quality services, and iconic golf course”, Nóbrega added.
In short, “this is a strategic investment for the municipality of Lagos as well as the wider region. It will not only boost the local economy by creating jobs, but also by attracting new visitors. It will reinforce Lagos’ position as a stimulus of excellence, where nature, authenticity and innovation go hand-in-hand. We are convinced that we are taking an important step for the whole community”, concludes Nóbrega.
