Former world No. 5 Tommy Robredo to lead first LUX Tennis Star Event from March 28 to April 4

Vilalara Grand Hotel Algarve has announced a new partnership with LUX Tennis to develop its racquet sports offering at the resort’s Racket Club, providing visitors and guests with exceptional sports programmes at a high technical level.

The collaboration marks the brand’s first presence in mainland Portugal, creating an opportunity for the resort to honour its 60-year legacy and elevate it with a consistent programme and exceptional technical level. Founded in 2017, LUX Tennis operates in more than 45 luxury resorts worldwide, specialising in the management of tennis, padel and pickleball programmes and events.

By bringing professionals such as Tommy Robredo, along with other names throughout the year, the resort aims to provide guests with the opportunity to “experience the spirit of the game up close, sharing the court, socialising and playing with tennis stars who have shaped several decades of the sport,” said Daniel Albarran, general mnager of Vilalara Grand Hotel Algarve.

The first highlight of the collaboration will be the LUX Tennis Star Event featuring former world No. 5 Tommy Robredo. The Spanish player, who won 12 ATP Tour titles, including the Hamburg Masters, and was part of Spain’s Davis Cup winning teams, will lead a week of on-court sessions with guests.

Taking place from March 28 to April 4, the programme will include group training sessions, private coaching and match play, as well as an exclusive meet-and-greet with participants.

For the occasion, Vilalara is offering a three-night stay package from €573 per person based on a double suite. Availability for private sessions with Tommy Robredo is limited.

The partnership also introduces Junior Racquet Camps for children and teenagers aged 4 to 16, combining technical training, coordination development and recreational activities.

Alongside the Star Events, the Racket Club also offers a range of lessons and activities, including 60-minute private tennis lessons (€100 per person), tennis and padel clinics for children aged 5 to 14, the Beat The Pro experience (a 90-minute match against a LUX Tennis professional), and Kids Camps offering structured tennis, padel and pickleball programmes for children and teenagers aged 4 to 16.

Located in the centre of the resort and overlooking the cliffs of Porches, the Racket Club features three tennis courts, one padel court and two pickleball courts, and has been part of Vilalara’s story since the beginning. “At the time, it was a true social club: guest tournaments, energy around the courts, encounters that began with a match and ended with shared dinners between strangers. That idea of community, movement and joy has never disappeared,” added Daniel Albarran.
