First edition Algarve Wine Sessions

Hilton Vilamoura is set to host the event, aimed at professionals in the wine and tourism sectors

The Algarve Wine Commission (CVA) is hosting the first edition of the Algarve Wine Session at the Hilton Vilamoura, aimed at professionals in the wine and tourism sectors.

Taking place on October 14 (Monday), the event focuses on promoting the region’s wines, promising to provide a unique experience with a series of activities related to Algarve oenology and gastronomy.

Participants will have the opportunity to taste wines from an exclusive selection of around 30 regional producers, including award-winning labels and new vintages.

The most anticipated moments of the event will be two masterclasses, “Taste and Convince” and “Wine by the Glass”, which will be led by sector experts and will explore the particularities of wine tasting and presentation.

In addition to the tasting and training sessions, the event will include a panel discussion on “Increasing the supply of local products”, where wine and tourism professionals will debate the importance of promoting the region’s products.

The Algarve Wine Session will also bring an opportunity for wine and tourism professionals to network, bringing together wine critics, producers, and sommeliers, as well as restaurant and hotel professionals in a space where they can share experiences and strengthen partnerships.

The CVA  has been promoting the quality of Algarve wines since 1994 and continue to work on certifying products with Denomination of Origin Lagos, Portimão, Lagoa and Tavira, as well as the Algarve Geographical Indication. In recent years, the region has witnessed a notable growth in the number of producers, vineyard area, and the quality of wines produced, reinforcing its presence in national and international markets.

According to the CVA, this first edition of the Algarve Wine Session will represent another step in promoting the excellence of Algarve wines and strengthening oenological tourism in the region.
