Offering a brand new concept in luxury hospitality for the Algarve, guests can experience the region’s essence all in one place
Located in Tôr, Loulé, the new Viceroy at Ombria Algarve, which officially opened on October 1st, brings a fresh concept in luxury hospitality to the Algarve, where guests can immerse themselves in the region’s essence.
Marking a “new era of modern luxury and sustainability” in the Algarve, the hotel offers a distinct experience not found elsewhere in the region, as shared by the brand on social media.
As commercial director João Richard Costa explained to Essential earlier this year, “no resort of this level and positioning has opened in the Algarve. We’re going to be a novelty in the hotel industry and the challenge is to offer an unforgettable experience”.
The new hotel boasts all the features expected of a five-star establishment, including a village centre offering a bakery, pastry shop, ice cream parlour, and boutique, all surrounded by expansive golf courses. A key focus of the resort is its emphasis on regional gastronomy, featuring “fresh, local produce paired with the skills of world-class chefs”.
As the first Viceroy hotel in Portugal and only the second in Europe, it promises to host at least four major events annually, which will highlight the best of the region through gastronomy, grape harvesting activities, concerts, and art exhibitions, according to the hotel’s general manager, Duarte Gonçalves da Cunha.
