The renowned Wine Spectator Magazine, recognised as one of the leading wine authorities in the world, has awarded Pepper’s Steakhouse and The One restaurants for their outstanding wine selections

The highly coveted yearly “Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator magazine was presented to two famous Algarve fine-dining restaurants: Pepper’s Steakhouse in Vilamoura and The One in Carvoeiro.

This marks the first time that Pepper’s Steakhouse, located at the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura, has received the award. Meanwhile, The One Restaurant, at the Tivoli Carvoeiro, has been honoured with the award for the fourth time, reaffirming its enduring excellence.

To make the list, award-winning restaurants must offer at least 90 wine references and satisfy the most discerning wine connoisseurs.

For Pepper’s Steakhouse, this recognition is a significant milestone, confirming the quality of its impressive wine collection. The restaurant offers an exceptional wine-tasting experience through its “Wine Book”, where customers can explore a wide range of Portuguese wines categorised by region, brand, grape variety, year of production, price, and awards.

Beginning in the Algarve and extending across all of Portugal’s wine regions, the restaurant’s wine journey also includes a diverse selection of global wines, sparkling wines, and champagnes, standing out for its vast selection of nearly 300 wine references and a stock of over 4,000 bottles.

Pepper’s Steakhouse is regarded as a top destination for wine enthusiasts, offering visitors a selection of Port wine, Portuguese sparkling wines, champagnes, white wines, and fortified wines, all stored in a marble room with a temperature maintained between 7ºC and 9ºC to ensure optimal storage conditions.

The oak-wood-built air-conditioned red wine cellar is kept at a controlled temperature between 16ºC and 18ºC, with dim lighting to preserve a humidity level of 70%. It currently houses over 180 national and international wine varieties, including some of the rarest references.

The One

Having once again received the prestigious “Award of Excellence” this year, The One is cementing its status as a top destination for those who appreciate fine wine and cuisine.

This exclusive seafront restaurant at the Tivoli Carvoeiro prioritises its wine list, highlighting premium local wines from Algarve producers.

The One

With an Art Deco ambience offering breathtaking views of Carvoeiro’s coastline, The One enhances a remarkable culinary journey that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Algarve.

In addition to the extensive range of wines that complement its menu, The One offers tasting menus with wine pairings and special tastings organised with local and national producers.
