THE ALGARVE SETS THE STAGE FOR MAJOR NATIONAL SPORTING EVENT
The Pine Cliffs Resort will host the 10th edition of the Winners’ Cup, one of the Algarve’s most prestigious sporting events dedicated to golf, tennis and padel, on the weekend of February 15 and 16.
The final Winners’ Cup 2020 golf tournament will have a shotgun start and take place at the resort’s golf course. The final tennis tournament will take place at the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy. Both will take place on Sunday, February 16 (starting at 8am and 9am respectively) and will be played by the winners of the 2019 weekly competitions.
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday as well, during a lunch at the restaurant O Grill, which will feature musical entertainment. The awards are as follows: 1st place in the golf tournament is to be awarded with a seven-night stay at Grosvernor House in Dubai, and 1st place in the tennis tournament is reserved for a four-night stay at W New York. Both prizes are valid for two people.
Throughout the weekend, there will also be friendly padel and golf tournaments, as well as golf clinics by Paul Tipper with the help of golf professional Miguel Boavida; tennis clinics with Frederico Gil (one of the most renowned Portuguese tennis players); and padel clinics with Diogo Schaefer (who joined the national team in 2018).
As always at Pine Cliffs Resort, children are never forgotten: they will also have their sporting moments. Kids will be able to participate in Mini-Golf tournaments at Porto Pirata on Saturday between 10am and 5pm, and on Sunday between 10am and 4pm.
