Vila Vita celebrates its 30th anniversary with 51 Michelin stars in themed events

In celebration of the resort’s 30th anniversary, Vila Vita Parc will bring together 51 Michelin Stars and 25 renowned chefs for themed fine-dining dinners and events

Vila Vita Parc Resort in Porches (Lagoa) is preparing a five-star gastronomic event to celebrate its 30th anniversary, bringing together a “unique constellation of 51 Michelin stars and 25 renowned chefs from Portugal and all over the world” for a series of themed fine-dining dinners and events.

The resort has planned fourReach for the Stars’ events, which will see top chefs “cooking up the ultimate storm” at the resort.

The celebrations will begin on April 26, with 30 exceptional events taking place throughout 30 weeks, until November. The events will feature several themes, from arts and culture to wellbeing, lifestyle and gastronomy, with the latter being the central pillar of Vila Vita’s identity.

The gastronomic events will take place as follows:

Portuguese Edition

To kick off the themed events, Reach for the Stars Portugal Edition, taking place on June 19, will feature six leading Portuguese chefs with two Michelin stars who will treat guests to a “fantastic feast at Atlântico Restaurant, alongside the hotel’s executive chef Hans Neuner for the first time ever”.

The impressive line-up features José Avillez (Belcanto), Rui Paula (Casa de Chá de Boa Nova), Benoit Sinthon (Il Gallo d’Oro), Dieter Koschina (Vila Joya), Henrique Sá Pessoa (Alma), and Ricardo Costa (The Yeatman). Price is €390 per person with wine pairing.

World Edition

The event will go international with the ‘World Edition’ on August 2, when 10 renowned chefs from around the world – all with three Michelin stars – will descend on the Clubhouse at Vila Vita Parc alongside top wine producers for a “memorable evening of sumptuous cuisine, an eclectic ambiance and world-class wines”.

For €490 per person, guests enjoy a feast prepared by a star-studded line-up boasting some huge names, from Gert de Mangeleer (Belgium/Hertog Jan), Paolo Casagrande (Spain/Lesarte), Jacob Jan Boerma (Holland /De Leest), Sven Elverfeld (Germany/Aqua) and Juan Amador (Austria/Amador) to Jan Hartwig (Germany/Atelier), Christian Bau (Germany/Victor’s Fine Dining), Klaus Erfort (Germany/Gästehaus Klaus Erfort) and Peter Knogl (Switzerland/Cheval Blanc). One more chef is still to be confirmed, organisers add.

Asia Edition

Asian food lovers will also have something to look forward to, as an Asian Edition will see four international chefs who specialise in Asian cuisine taking over the kitchen at Vila Vita Parc’s Mizu Teppanyaki restaurant on four dates.

The first is planned for June 2 with chef Pedro Almeida. Price will be €155 for a tasting menu plus €95 for wine and sake pairing.

The chef for the September 9 event is still to be confirmed, whilst Mario Payan and Masanori Tomikawa will be the guest chefs on September 23 (price €125pp + €75pp wine and sake pairing) and October 15 (price €155pp + €95pp wine and sake pairing).

Green Edition

Lastly, the ‘Green Edition’ is being dubbed as a “unique opportunity to experience some of the most commendable ‘green’ chefs in the field of sustainability and see how they use these practices to create amazingly tasty dishes, fit to be in the famous red guide”.

Chef Marg Segarra will serve a tasting menu on August 12 (€125pp for tasting menu, plus €75 for wine pairing), whilst chef Carlos Teixeira will present his own ‘green’ set menu on September 12 (€105pp + €45 for wine pairing).

Passionate About Algarve Event

But the festivities for discerning gourmands do not end here. ‘Passionate About Algarve’ is an event that will “pay tribute to the region Vila Vita is passionate about” on June 13.

Top chefs from the region will combine their culinary repertoire into a series of delightful dishes for dinner at Adega restaurant. Much-celebrated wine producers from the Algarve will join the chefs, alongside live entertainment that showcases the rich culture and history of the region,” organisers say.

The line-up will feature four Michelin-star chefs – João Oliveira (Vista), Luís Brito (A Ver Tavira), Rui Silvestre (Vistas) and Louis Anjos (Al-Sud) – as well as two renowned Algarvian chefs, Noélia Jerónimo (Noélia & Jerónimo) and João Marreiros (Loki). Price is €225pp.

La Bela France Edition

Meanwhile, ‘La Bela France’ will see three renowned chefs create a “fabulous feast” at the resort’s Bela Vita Bar & Brasserie restaurant on three different dates.

First up will be André Lança Cordeira (May 23, €88pp), followed by Julien Montbabut (July 14, €95pp) and Vincent Maillard (October 19, €95pp).
