Viceroy at Ombria Algarve, Verdelago Resort, Vilamoura Marina and Zoomarine were among the regional winners

The Algarve stood out at the Publituris Portugal Travel Awards 2026, with several of the region’s hotels, resorts, attractions and tourism leaders recognised at one of Portugal’s leading industry awards.

Held at Hilton Vilamoura Resort & Spa on June 26, the awards celebrated excellence across the national tourism sector, bringing together some of Portugal’s most prominent names in hospitality, travel and leisure.

The region secured a strong number of wins across key categories. Viceroy at Ombria Algarve was named Best Five-Star Hotel, whilst Verdelago Resort received the award for Best Resort. Vilalara Grand Hotel was recognised as Best Beach Hotel and Palácio de Tavira won Best Boutique Hotel.

Vilamoura also had a particularly successful evening, with The Els Club Vilamoura named Best Golf Course and Vilamoura Marina taking home the award for Best Marina.

Zoomarine Algarve added another regional win to the list after being named Best Theme Park, reinforcing the Algarve’s position as one of Portugal’s strongest tourism destinations.

One of the evening’s special distinctions went to Isolete Correia, CEO of Vilamoura World, who received the Belmiro Santos Award. The honour recognised her more than five decades of work at Vilamoura Marina and her role in helping establish it as one of Europe’s leading nautical tourism destinations.

The Publituris Portugal Travel Awards recognise excellence across Portugal’s tourism sector, with winners selected based on criteria including innovation, quality, reputation and contribution to the industry’s development.
