Three unmissable events coming to the Algarve this August and September
Mar Me Quer 25
Portimão is once again hosting the Mar Me Quer festival on its riverside area, from August 13-15.
The 4th edition of the event features artists such as Calema, Dillaz, Da Weasel, Bispo, Plutonio, and Soraia Ramos, who will perform from 6pm onwards.
The festival also has an environmental and social focus, offering various workshops and activities including an Inclusive Art Workshop, Sensory Theatre, Sculpture, and Literature.
Poetry, storytelling, and music are also explored at an event that aims to foster collective awareness, bringing Pop, Hip-hop/Rap, and Funk to the Algarve.
Oktoberfest
From September 25 to October 5, the Algarve embraces the spirit of Munich’s famous beer festival.
The Vila Vita Biergarten in Porches dresses up for this German celebration, drawing in both locals and tourists with its authentic costumes, beer, and food.

With outdoor bars and a restaurant serving classic German dishes like schnitzel, bretzl, pork knuckle, and homemade apple strudel, alongside Erdinger beer and local Porches Craft Beer, guests are in for a truly immersive experience.
The lively atmosphere is further enhanced by the traditional band that performs at the festivities every year.
Algarve Nature Fest
This year, the Algarve Nature Fest is taking place across two Algarve municipalities: Aljezur and Monchique.
From September 26-28, the festival will offer a range of outdoor activities and experiences designed to promote nature tourism. The programme is packed with options, from mountain biking and themed hikes to sailing and diving baptisms, SUP, kayaking, and even boat trips for birdwatching.

The stunning natural beauty and rich biodiversity of the region will captivate both adults and children, appealing to all who seek a deeper connection with the environment.
A key objective of the festival is also to raise awareness about the importance of protecting and conserving the Algarve’s diverse landscapes and biological heritage.
