Annual event celebrates chocolate, local producers and community spirit
Loulé will once again host its popular Chocolate Fair from February 27 to March 8, transforming the Cerca do Convento do Espírito Santo into a must-visit destination for chocolate lovers. Now in its 16th edition, the event will take place daily between 10am and 8pm.
The fair has become a highlight of the regional events calendar, attracting residents and visitors to explore chocolate in all its forms – from dark, milk and white varieties to handmade bonbons, cakes, hot chocolate and creative new interpretations.
Organisers promise an immersive experience filled with “intense aromas, irresistible flavours, and creations that awaken all the senses”, bringing together artisans and producers who showcase both traditional recipes and innovative techniques.
Beyond its gastronomic appeal, the event plays an important role in supporting local commerce and revitalising the town centre. Organisers describe it as “more than just a gastronomic event; it’s a vibrant social gathering, centred around the shared enjoyment of chocolate”.
Over the years, the Chocolate Fair has built a strong connection with the local community, becoming a much-anticipated annual tradition for families, residents and visitors alike.
In addition to tasting opportunities, the programme will include live music and entertainment, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
Admission is free.
