“Interest in Portugal for investment, retirement, business and tourism is at an all-time high across the USA”
The Open Media Group has announced the confirmed dates and venues for their “Living in Portugal” seminar events to be held in both Los Angeles and San Francisco next February.
The announcement comes following a trip to the two cities last week by Open Media CEO Bruce Hawker who visited various potential venues and met with the Portuguese Consul General in San Francisco, the director of Portugal’s international trade and investment agency AICEP for California and Portugal’s honorary consul in Los Angeles.
“It was an exhausting but rewarding six-day round trip,” said Bruce Hawker, “but also very productive. Interest in Portugal for investment, retirement, business and tourism is at an all-time high across the USA, and especially in California, and our project has been welcomed with open arms.”

The venue for the Los Angeles event is the Luxe Hotel on Sunset Boulevard. The hotel is just five minutes from Beverly Hills and enjoys an excellent location at the crossroads of Brentwood and Bel-Air.
The San Francisco event will take place at the historic Palace Hotel, part of the Marriott Group’s Luxury Collection, located close to Union Square in the main shopping district of the city. Considered to be the grand dame of San Francisco hotels, it is the oldest surviving hotel in the city having originally opened in 1875.
The seminars will cover a broad range of subjects related to living in Portugal, from legal and tax issues to residency, real estate, healthcare, education and business. Amongst the key speakers will be Jonathan Littman, author of The New California Dream is in Portugal, and co-founder of RedBridgelisbon.com, a cross-border club connecting Lisbon and San Francisco.
The confirmed dates are February 9, 2023 in Los Angeles and February 11, 2023 in San Francisco.
A website with online booking for the events is soon to be launched. In the meantime, further information is available by emailing [email protected]
