Algarve fine dining shines as Ocean and Vila Joya secure top 5 national positions
La Liste, one of the world’s most selective guides for diners and travellers, revealed its 2026 global ranking on November 24.
Two Algarve restaurants, both with two Michelin stars, secured places in Portugal’s Top 5. Ocean at Vila Vita Parc in Porches, led by chef Hans Neuner, achieved 96.5 points, topping the Portuguese list, whilst Vila Joya in Albufeira, led by chef Dieter Koschina, scored 92 points and ranked fifth.

Portugal has added seven more restaurants to the ranking since last year, bringing the total to 17.
La Liste compiles insights from experts and millions of online reviews, covering 200 countries and 40,000 establishments. Its 2026 ranking highlights the Top 1,000 restaurants worldwide, celebrating the finest dining experiences and global culinary excellence.
