The Algarve International Autodrome will host the 7th round of the Superbike season, promising a lot of activities for the fans during the three-day event
The Algarve International Autodrome (AIA) in Portimão will welcome back another edition of the World Superbike Championship taking place on August 9 (Friday) and until August 11 (Sunday), bringing three days of an action-packed superbike championship for this Summer.
Part of the 12 lineups, which started in February this year and will end in October, the Pirelli Portuguese Round will be the seventh stage of the Superbike season, with six races completed and one still to go this month – the Czech Round on July 19-21.
A completely new programme was revealed by the organisers, and all track activities will take place after 12pm, leaving “open space for multiple fan-targeted activities”.
“We want this to truly be a party, a celebration of the WorldSBK in the year that the Algarve International Autodrome celebrates its 15th anniversary. That is why we are preparing, together with the organiser of the championship, a series of moments both inside and outside the paddock for motorcycling lovers to experience something different, with many activities aimed at fans who travel to the circuit,” the racetrack stated to the press.
Marking an important milestone for the Algarve Racetrack, the competition was the first motorsports event to take place at the track just after it opened in 2008.
“The WorldSBK has always been a part of the AIA, and in such a special year for us, we want to celebrate together with everyone who visits us.”
For the main event taking place on Sunday, tickets start at €20 per person, and the entire weekend of activities starts at €25 per person. Tickets can be purchased online here.
Round 11 will also be held in Portugal, at the Circuito Estoril, in Lisbon, from October 11-13. The competition will end on October 18-20, with the Prometeon Spanish 12th round.
