Ribeirinha Beach returns to Portimão riverfront with summer programme of music, dance and workshops

Daily activities, live performances and open classes near Clube Naval de Portimão

Portimão’s riverfront has once again been transformed into an urban beach for the second edition of Ribeirinha Beach, bringing a relaxed seaside atmosphere to one of the city’s most central public spaces until June 21.

Taking place daily from 5pm to 10pm near Clube Naval de Portimão, the initiative is organised by the POIS association. It aims to enhance the riverside area and encourage both residents and visitors to spend more time outdoors, whilst strengthening the city’s cultural identity and local heritage.

The programme brings together a mix of cultural and recreational activities, including live music, themed concert nights, dance sessions and martial arts classes. Highlights include Brazilian jiu-jitsu, capoeira, hip hop, samba, as well as children’s arts and crafts workshops, astronomy activities, and creative upcycling sessions focused on clothing and furniture.

Dance sessions include samba on June 12 at 6pm, African dance on June 17 at 7pm and bachata on June 19 at 6pm. A circus workshop is scheduled for June 10 at 6pm.

Martial arts sessions feature Brazilian jiu-jitsu on June 11 at 6pm and June 18 at 6pm, capoeira on June 11 at 7pm and June 18 at 7pm, and chi kung on June 17 at 5pm.

Among the artists performing are Bandua, 800 Gondomar, Naomi Falcon & The Dub Collective, Sambambas, and Ben & the Pirates trio, alongside DJ sets from DJ Manawee and DJ TrippySound.

The programme also includes a sunset cocktail session and a series of open workshops showcasing the work of the POIS association and its initiatives across the city.

Entry to the event is free.
