The 10th edition of the prestigious luxury awards saw two Algarve spas win national titles
The 10th edition of the World Spa Awards, which celebrates excellence in the luxury wellness industry, has awarded two Algarve resorts.
Vila Vita Spa by Sisley was awarded the title of “Portugal’s Best Resort Spa 2024,” and Pine Cliffs – a Luxury Collection Resort received the “Portugal’s Best Wellness Retreat 2024” award.

Part of the Vila Vita Resort in Porches, the spa is known as haven of well-being and tranquillity, and has won the accolade for the fifth time, further cementing its reputation as an industry leader.
The spa offers a wide range of treatments that combine advanced scientific techniques with high-quality natural products, using technologies chosen by some of the most exclusive and luxurious spas and clinics in the world and “have once again won over the voters of the awards that celebrate excellence in luxury treatments and techniques, spa professionals and guests from all over the world who vote for the experiences and offers that have most impressed them throughout the year”, said the resort in a statement.
Inspired by the Algarve’s sea caves, the spa offers guests with 14 treatment rooms and a studio with private and group yoga classes, including aerial yoga.
Vila Vita Spa by Sisley also houses an HYPOXI® studio, one of its kind in Portugal, with innovative body shaping methods.
Open all year round, the award-winning spa also organises sessions with international medical and yoga specialists as well as wellness events and workshops such as manicure tips for teenagers and skin care, as well as a special autumn Hypoxi offer.
Recently, Vila Vita Parc also stood out at the Condé Nast Traveller UK and Condé Nast Traveler US, ranking at no.8 and no.21, respectively, in the European Resorts Category.
Pine Cliffs – a Luxury Collection Resort
In the central Algarve, Pine Cliffs – a Luxury Collection Resort, honoured with the “Portugal’s Best Wellness Retreat 2024” award for the second time is settled in a privileged location with direct access to the Falésia beach, in Albufeira, combining both fitness activities and spa experiences.
The Serenity – The Art of Well Being spa is regarded as one of the finest spas in Europe, and stands out for its portfolio of memorable experiences, in perfect surroundings and personalised programmes that foster health and well-being in the broadest sense.
Its mission is to “uphold a harmonious combination of idyllic settings, top-of-the-range products and services, and personalised and exceptional experiences for body, mind and spirit”.
Offering a series of wellness programmes, the Serenity Spa is designed to “provide a unique journey of self-discovery based on a holistic approach to well-being that incorporates body, mind and soul, ranging from Bootcamp classes inspired by military training, weight management and detox to “Fitness Journey” to improve training performance, yoga and pilates sessions, as well as nature and Serenity retreats.
The spa menu includes a wide range of body and facial treatments, as well as signature treatments such as the “Senses of the Algarve”, using traditional local ingredients, including a scrub made with Fleur-de-Sel from Ria Formosa and sand from Falésia beach.
Born at Pine Cliffs in 2015, the Serenity – The Art of Well Being brand has since expanded to other locations in Portugal (Sheraton Cascais Resort and Hyatt Regency Lisboa) as well as Dubai, at the Fairmont The Palm hotel.
The World Spa Awards recognise excellence in the luxury wellness industry and celebrate those who set the highest standards in the field, and the awards are the culmination of a year-long online voting process, engaging tourism professionals specialising in spa and wellness, as well as hundreds of thousands of consumers from around the globe.
