Algarve marina receives international recognition at the Southampton International Boat Show, highlighting its position as a leading destination for boating, lifestyle and premium tourism
Vilamoura Marina has been named Superyacht Marina of the Year 2026 by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA), receiving the international award at the Southampton International Boat Show on September 23.
The TYHA Marina Awards recognise leading marinas across the UK and internationally, with the Superyacht Marina of the Year award decided through a public vote.
For Vilamoura and the Algarve, the latest distinction adds to the marina’s growing list of international recognition and highlights its role as more than a boating destination. Its waterfront brings together restaurants, hotels, retail, entertainment and a range of premium experiences, making the marina a central part of Vilamoura’s lifestyle offering.
“Receiving this distinction is a source of pride for the entire Vilamoura Marina team and recognition of the commitment we make every day to excellence and the quality of the experience we provide. More than distinguishing a marina, this award recognises the work of a dedicated team and the experience we seek to provide in Vilamoura. It is a recognition that inspires us to continue raising our standards and consolidating Vilamoura Marina as an international reference,” says Isolete Correia, CEO of Vilamoura Marina.
The latest award follows a series of international distinctions for Vilamoura Marina since 2015. In 2023, it became the first marina in Portugal to receive the 5 Gold Anchor Platinum certification from TYHA, the highest level of the Gold Anchor programme.
