The 8th edition of the festival will present new shows, workshops, cultural markets, open gardens, and musical performances
Loulé’s performing arts association, Corpo de Hoje, presents its festival of performing arts, an edition that promises a rich programme of creativity and collaboration, “shaking the dust off the body” and slowing down time through dance, theatre, and performance.
Kicking off on September 1 in Loulé, the festival brings together national and international artists with performances spanning improvisation, music, dance, and more, alongside cultural markets and workshops.
The festival will take place across multiple venues in Loulé, including the Cineteatro and the park in front of it, Estúdio Corpo de Hoje, the Historical Centre, Loulé Castle, and even extending to Tavira, and invites visitors to value attentive listening and meaningful connections, offering a “necessary pause from life’s frantic pace and replacing it with genuine moments of contemplation, improvisation, and human encounter”.

The festival aims to remain true to its “inclusive spirit”, reaffirming itself as “a festival of everyone, with everyone, and for everyone”, inviting each participant to become an active part of the artistic community, under the motto “A festival you don’t just watch, you live”.
Under the artistic and production direction of Ana Borges, with multimedia production by Cláudio Vidal and illustration by Maina Kernalegenn, Corpo de Hoje is “more than a festival”, it is an artistic movement asking: “How do we feel, see, and experience the world in our bodies today?”.
There will be intimate performances such as Cláudio Vidal’s “Entre Casas” or Dora Fonseca’s “Guião Para Uma Dança Feliz”, that will explore the territory through art and sustainability at the Cultural Market, as well as interventions in Tavira’s Historic Centre, and visitors will have the chance to engage directly with artists and communities in residencies like “[trans][bordar]”, which poetically intertwines dance with material and intangible collective memory.
The festival is co-produced by Cineteatro Louletano and the Municipality of Loulé, with support from DGArtes, the Municipalities of Loulé, Tavira, and Funchal, Kozii, and media partners Antena 2, Rádio Rua, and Rádio Total. Partnerships include Loulé Criativo and Teatro Baltazar Dias.
The festival will also be extending into the following year, returning March 21 to 29, and with a programme taking place also in Funchal, Madeira.
The full programme is available on the festival’s official website.
