Beauty in tradition
Recently opened, Eleven Boliqueime is a stunning restored home in the heart of the authentic Portuguese village it takes its name from, acquired by entrepreneurial Dutch hotelier Michael Helling and his wife Nikki. Michael has an outstanding resume in some of the finest hotels, restaurants and private members clubs in the world, such as The Hong Kong Club or The Grove Hotel, in Hertfordshire. Meanwhile, Nikki worked in the high-end real estate market in London.

Eleven Boliqueime
The couple’s experience and passion for architecture and design is evident in Eleven: “With nods to Algarvean heritage, the building has been respectfully restored and designed without compromise, to blend environmental considerations and modern technologies catering for all needs,” they explain.

The seven rooms are beautifully decorated with stunning artworks and a soothing colour palette, which perfectly echo the overall calming and peaceful ambiance of the property, complemented by the courtyard garden. The Courtyard Coffee Shop is the perfect place to enjoy a cooling drink or a light meal under the shade of the olive, lemon and loquat trees, totally immersed in the distant sounds of the koi pond waterfall.
