Multi-faceted Negra Mole
João Clara, the family-run winery in Alcantarilha, has launched a white single-varietal Negra Mole.
The icon of the Algarve, this grape variety is known for its versatility.

Its bunches contain both red and white grapes, used to make light-bodied reds, rosés, and, more recently, whites. This is a novelty for João Clara, which experimented with the grape to produce the João Clara Edição Limitada Branco Negra Mole.
With just 600 bottles produced, this exclusive wine reveals a concentrated yellow robe. Its aroma is dominated by grape and saline notes.
Fresh and tense in the mouth, it shows the full potential of the Negra Mole variety in its white form (€40).
Naturally Bubbly
Pét-Nats, short for Pétillant Naturel (natural sparkling wine), have become a major trend among low-intervention wine lovers and are slowly piquing the curiosity of Algarve winemakers.
Sul Composto, the western Algarve producers with vines in Monchique and Burgau, has recently launched its first Pét-Nat rosé, made from the Aragonês grape variety.

Made using ancestral techniques, the Al-Mudd Tinta Roriz Pet Nat presents a delicate, light salmon colour.
On the nose, it shows notes of white stone fruit and light yeast aromas typical of the style. With fine bubbles and a light texture, it finishes dry and fresh, reflecting the elegance of the syenit soil and the high-altitude mountain climate (€19.70).
More than a wine; a tribute
Celebrating a very special arrival, Edds Mike Reserva Syrah 2022 was named to honour the birth of the Opstelten winemaking family’s first grandson on September 9, 2022.

Carefully produced using hand-picked grapes, with selective harvesting to preserve its authenticity, the wine shows a ruby-violet hue, with ripe plum, toasted, and sweet spice notes reminiscent of tobacco leaf.
The plum remains expressive, balanced by dark-chocolate hints. On the palate, it offers fine tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, flavoursome finish.
A special wine that celebrates Syrah’s character with a memorable touch (€29.90).
Algarve sweetness
Benefiting from sloping vineyards on the south bank of the Rio Arade, Quinta dos Sentidos produces the Essência Colheita Tardia, a delicious late-harvest wine with 147 grams of residual sugar per litre, made from Touriga Nacional grapes dehydrated on the vine.

This sweet wine, presented in a 375ml bottle, has a very deep, impenetrable colour.
On the nose, it is intense and fragrant, with notes of flowers, nutmeg, black fruit and cedar. On the palate, it is opulent and full-bodied, with creamy sweetness and a long finish reminiscent of a vintage port.
A unique dessert wine bursting with Algarve sweetness (€29).
