Live music, birdwatching, open-air concerts and summer dining experiences across the region
Birds of a feather
From October 2 to 5, Sagres will once again welcome birdwatchers, wildlife photographers, and nature enthusiasts for the annual Sagres Birdwatching Festival.
Organised by Vila do Bispo Municipal Council in partnership with SPEA-BirdLife and Almargem, the event celebrates one of Europe’s most important bird migration corridors. This year’s featured species is the razorbill (Alca torda).

The programme includes guided birdwatching excursions, nature walks, boat trips, talks, workshops, photography sessions, and family activities.
The full programme will be announced in August, with registrations opening on September 2.
Festival F returns for 11th edition
Festival F returns to Faro’s historic Vila Adentro from September 3 to 5, bringing more than 60 concerts to eight stages across the city’s old town.
Dedicated to showcasing Portuguese music, the festival features leading national artists including Carminho, The Gift, Bárbara Tinoco, D.A.M.A, Slow J, HMB, Moonspell, Áurea, Chico da Tina, and Nelson Freitas. Around 30% of this year’s programme is dedicated to Algarve artists, highlighting the strength and diversity of the region’s music scene.
Visitors can also enjoy exhibitions, talks, street performances, artisan markets, family activities, and the popular Silent Party inside Faro Castle.
Three-day passes cost €54, whilst day tickets are €22.
Music takes to the streets
Until September 19, Lagoa’s “A Cultura Sai à Rua – Celebramos a Música Local” festival returns with a programme of free open-air concerts across the municipality’s towns and villages.
Showcasing local musical talent, the initiative transforms public spaces into lively performance venues whilst supporting local businesses and encouraging visitors to explore different parts of the council.
This year’s programme includes an increased number of concerts in busier locations, alongside performances linked to events organised by the parish councils. All concerts are free to attend.
Summer nights at Vila Vita Parc
Every Monday until September 14, Vila Vita Parc in Porches hosts Piazzetta Summer Nights, an open-air celebration of food, music, and Algarve summer evenings.

Taking place from 6.30pm to 10pm beside the Adega restaurant, the experience features a Portuguese-inspired barbecue showcasing regional recipes and seasonal local produce cooked over open flames, accompanied by live music from Portuguese band Mar de Fora.
Guests can also browse the Piazzetta’s boutiques or enjoy artisanal ice cream and speciality coffee at Café Bica.
The experience costs €85 per person (excluding beverages), with a 50% discount for children aged 4 to 12.
