Record near €30 billion revenue and new Hilton and Hyatt openings reinforce Portugal’s growth
Tourism revenue in Portugal near €30 billion
Portugal closed 2025 with record tourism revenues of almost €30 billion, marking the strongest year ever for the sector and growth of around 6% compared with 2024.

Total tourism receipts reached an estimated €29.4 billion, driven more by higher visitor spending than by increased arrivals.
According to Turismo de Portugal, guest numbers rose modestly, whilst revenue grew at a much faster pace, reflecting a clear shift towards higher-value tourism.

President Carlos Abade attributed the results to sustained international promotion, investment in infrastructure, improved tourism products and closer public-private cooperation.
For 2026, attracting long-haul, higher-spending markets and improving air connectivity remain central to the country’s tourism strategy.
