From endurance racing at the Algarve International Circuit to ultra trail running and free outdoor fitness in Loulé.
Lamera Cup at AIA
Endurance racing returns to the Algarve International Circuit (AIA) from September 4–6 with the Lamera Cup.
Featuring Elite and Pro-Am/Am tiers, the competition brings identical race cars to the track, placing the emphasis on driver skill, strategy and close competition.
Visitors can also purchase paddock access tickets (€10) for the opportunity to get closer to the action and see the teams at work behind the scenes.
Nexe 107 1.2 – Trail Ultra Endurance
On September 18 and 19, Santa Bárbara de Nexe will host the Nexe 107 1.2 – Trail Ultra Endurance, a trail-running event featuring a demanding circular course with significant elevation gain.
Participants can compete solo in the 107km race, in teams of two sharing the distance across 52km and 55km stages, or in the 55km Ultra Trail.
The route includes narrow trails, wide tracks, rocky sections and stretches of tarmac, passing through the landscapes of the Algarve’s hinterland and hillside.
Open to runners of all levels, the event offers a challenging test of endurance in a competitive atmosphere.
An active Algarve summer
Until September 13, Loulé’s popular Verão Ativo (Active Summer) programme returns with more than 490 free fitness classes and well-being activities across Loulé, Almancil, and Quarteira.
Open to all ages, the 13-week initiative includes yoga, Pilates, dance, capoeira, functional training, walking and running sessions, senior fitness classes, and sunset Zumba, led by specialist instructors at eight venues.
The programme also features healthy eating workshops, sunset dog walks, and a closing event in Quarteira.
Designed to promote active lifestyles and community wellbeing, all activities are free to attend, with the full programme available online.
