New places to eat and drink in the Algarve this summer
Food, wine, and a stunning view
Perched above Praia da Rocha in Portimão, Bela Vista Hotel & Spa has given its poolside deck a facelift just in time for summer and opened BELA, a relaxed new restaurant by chef João Oliveira, the talent behind the hotel’s Michelin-starred Vista.
The new beachside terrace pairs a laid-back yet upscale atmosphere with Algarvean classics reinterpreted with a contemporary twist: from Alvor oysters with green chilli and coriander oil to octopus cataplana with Aljezur sweet potato, and from carpaccios, ceviches and scarlet prawns to creamy lobster rice, paired with exquisite wines and cocktails. Open daily to guests and the public from 12pm to 10pm.

New pub opens at Vale do Lobo
Vale do Lobo has unveiled The Wolf, a contemporary pub and gastro bar in the heart of the resort’s Praça.
Blending the character of a traditional British pub with a modern feel, the new venue serves classic comfort food including Fish & Chips, Shepherd’s Pie and gourmet burgers, alongside pizzas, tacos and craft beers.
With a relaxed atmosphere, outdoor terrace and regular live music, The Wolf is designed as a social hub for residents and visitors alike. Open daily from 4pm to 2am.

Le Petit Chef arrives in Lagos
Le Petit Chef, one of the world’s best-known immersive dining experiences, has arrived at Cascade Wellness Resort by Domes in Lagos.
Held every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at 8pm, the experience combines 3D projection mapping, storytelling, and fine dining, following the adventures of a virtual chef projected onto diners’ tables before each course.
Created by Belgian artistic collective Skullmapping, the show has been presented in more than 135 locations worldwide.
Guests can choose from Classic, Vegetarian, and Junior Chef menus, with reservations available via the official Le Petit Chef website.

Fairway sundowners
Victoria Golf Resort & Spa in Vilamoura has unveiled Botanic Terrace, a chic new rooftop that extends the hotel’s Botanic bar this summer.
Open daily from 6pm to midnight, it’s designed for languid summer evenings, with a more relaxed vibe. Guests can enjoy drinks and light bites as they toast the golden hour, overlooking The Els Club Vilamoura’s manicured fairways.
Standout drinks include the Ruby (€20), blending rum, Ruby Port, fresh lime juice and egg white; the Algarve Spritz (€19), with Black Pig gin, lime juice, Lillet, rosé wine and tonic; and the #114 (€19), featuring Hendrick’s, Aperol, verjus, celery bitters, cucumber and fleur de sel.
