Until the end of September, Sensai Restaurant offers the unique opportunity to try an array of flavours from Bangkok curated by chef Arwuth Boribal

Chef Arwuth Boribal brings an explosion of flavours all the way from Bangkok for a unique dining experience until the end of September.

This summer, the Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort launched a new pop-up concept in its pan-Asian restaurant, Sensai.

Chef Arwuth

The five-star Thai resort further solidified its roots by inviting Chef Arwuth Boribal of the Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort hotel to offer its customers a unique and flavourful experience.

The charismatic Chef, who first learned to cook at home with his mother, promises to make every guest’s mouth water with an aromatic Thai menu and exclusive cooking classes where refinement and authenticity take centre stage.

Born, raised, and trained in Thailand, Chef Arawuth, also known as “Ple,” has a deep passion for his homeland’s recipes. His dishes are a balance between sweet and sour, spicy and savoury flavours.

By taking charge of Sensai, the Chef brings these authentic flavours to the Algarve in an exclusive gastronomic experience that will take guests on a journey through Thailand, a feast for all the senses.

Starters include classic Chicken Satays (€13), a fresh Papaya Salad (€14) and a Pork Labb (€14) – a spicy minced pork salad from the northeastern region of Isan.

Main course options include the delicious Green Curry with Chicken (€27), creamy Tom Yum soup with prawns (€29), Red Curry with Roast Duck (€28), Tiger Prawns in Tamarind sauce (€29) and Pad Kra Pow (€27) – pork with oyster sauce, chilli, garlic and Thai basil.

This colourful journey ends with traditional Thai desserts. The most popular ones are the creamy banana with coconut milk (€9.50) and the mango with creamy rice (€9.50).

Guests can indulge in Chef Arwuth’s creations in the comfort of Sensai, an elegant restaurant dedicated to Asian flavours with a sophisticated design and a south-facing balcony overlooking the Victoria Golf Course (currently under refurbishment) and, in the distance, the sea.

During his stay in Portugal, Chef Arwuth also offers an interactive activity for those who want to explore Thai cuisine more thoroughly.

The Spice Spoons, a signature Anantara experience, consists of a cooking class during which participants discover each destination’s most authentic ingredients and recipes.

At the Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort, participants start the day by going to the Loulé market with the Chef to choose the ingredients. They then return to the hotel to learn to cook traditional Thai dishes.

The interactive workshop features a choice of three set menus, and attendees will have the opportunity to learn all the secrets behind the tasty Thai dishes with expert guidance.

This experience includes all the ingredients, the hands-on workshop, a three-course meal, and take-home recipes. It is available to every gourmet, whether staying at the hotel or not, starting at €250 per person.
