The new Equestrian Centre is set to become a prestigious five-star facility
Following renovations, the new Vilamoura Equestrian Centre will return to the international show-jumping circuit in October 2025, teaming up with Grandprix – a prominent show-jumping events promoter.
The return to major global competitions will mark the beginning of an exciting new era for Vilamoura and its revamped Equestrian Centre, with the centre’s main attractions to be its three expansive ebb-and-flow sand arenas, each exceeding 6,500m2, and a sizable grass arena measuring 14,000m2.
The centre will also include four undulated warm-up arenas, Europe’s largest covered free-training arena exceeding 6,000m², and a state-of-the-art veterinary clinic will also be on-site, as well as over 1,000 new stable structures, three high-end entertainment spaces with a VIP area, a 3km horse trail, and a 30,000m² grassy training zone within a nature reserve, providing a top-tier experience for all riders.
With these new enhancements, the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre promises to deliver an exceptional experience that exceeds the expectations of riders, horses, and spectators whilst also providing a prime sponsorship platform for local and international brands.
The Equestrian Centre’s return to the Winter Tour series organised by Grandprix will showcase a 20-week schedule from October to April, featuring CSI3*, CSI4*, and even CSI5* competitions. This event will be on par with prestigious competitions such as the Longines Deauville Classic, Chantilly Classic, Le Touquet Classic, and Cabourg Classic, known for attracting top showjumpers globally.
