The accolade recognises marinas worldwide for excellence in services and infrastructure
The Algarve’s Vilamoura Marina, recently expanded, has added another feather to its cap, winning the prestigious Superyacht Marina of the Year award from The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA), an honour recognising marinas across the globe that excel in quality, sustainability, and service.
The award was presented at the Southampton International Boat Show in the UK. As part of the Gold Anchor program, the marina holds the highest distinction – 5 Golden Anchor Platinum – joining an elite group of just 11 marinas worldwide.
Vilamoura Marina was evaluated across a wide range of criteria, from customer service and state-of-the-art facilities for large yachts to fuelling points, security, maintenance areas, social spaces, and parking. Environmental responsibility also played a key role, including energy efficiency, renewable energy use, waste management, marine conservation, sustainability initiatives, and engagement with the local community.
According to Isolete Correia, CEO of Marina de Vilamoura, this mark of excellence “validates the daily commitment of [the] team to offer clients a unique, high-quality experience”, ensuring it “remains a leader in the sector. From here on out, [Vilamoura Marina] will continue raising standards and providing outstanding service”.
A regular on international podiums, Vilamoura Marina has frequently been named Best International Marina among 5-Golden-Anchor marinas since 2015, and now adds the 2025 Superyacht recognition to its growing list of honours.
