New wine and gastronomy event brings together chefs, leading wine producers and renowned names from the wine industry

For three days, Vila Vita Parc will be the centre stage for a gathering around great wines, leading producers and great stories, with the first edition of Wine in the Parc by blue, a new event created by blue Travel and Vila Vita Parc, taking place between October 9 (Friday) and October 11 (Sunday).

More than just a wine event, Wine in the Parc will be an international-scale gathering in Portugal where wine, gastronomy, travel and lifestyle naturally come together, through carefully curated experiences.

More than 25 leading producers and renowned wine houses from Portugal and some of the world’s major wine regions are already confirmed for the two main Walk Around Wine Tastings. They will be joined by winemakers, sommeliers, chefs, journalists, collectors and wine lovers for three days of tastings, conversations and discoveries.

Among the confirmed names are Anselmo Mendes, Antinori, António Maçanita, Barbeito, Bodegas Tradición, Bollinger, Vega Sicilia, Casa da Passarella, Dönnhoff, José Maria da Fonseca, Menin Douro Estates, Quinta do Crasto, Quinta do Noval, Soalheiro, Casa Ferreirinha/Sogrape, Luís Pato, Oremus, Palmer, Pago de Carraovejas and Vincent Girardin, among others.

Throughout the weekend, Wine in the Parc will offer a series of highly limited-capacity masterclasses, designed not simply as tastings but as journeys through the world of wine.

The programme will explore Alvarinho versus Riesling, Douro and Ribera del Duero, Baga and Nebbiolo, Dão and Burgundy, the volcanic terroirs of the Azores in dialogue with Sicily, as well as the great fortified wines of Porto, Madeira, Setúbal and Jerez. A selection of iconic wines from around the world will also feature. Some experiences will be limited to just 15 or 20 people, whilst one will have only eight places. The Sailing with Bollinger experience will take champagne out of the traditional tasting room and onto the water, aboard the Solaris, with the Algarve coastline as its backdrop.

Gastronomy will also be central to the event. The culinary world of Vila Vita Parc will run throughout the programme, with lunches, wine dinners, pairings, guest chefs and experiences.

On the final day, the kitchens will open their doors for the Kitchen Party. Chefs from Vila Vita Parc and guest chefs, producers, winemakers and guests will come together for a relaxed evening featuring different culinary creations, fine wines and a DJ playing inside the kitchen itself, a grand finale to three days spent between glasses, tables, conversations and encounters.

The event will be spread across the entire resort, with plans to become a new landmark on the Portuguese and international wine and gastronomy calendar in the Algarve.
