Exhibition opens on August 8, showcasing works by David Yarrow, Albert Watson and other acclaimed artists
A new exhibition celebrating some of the world’s most influential photographers is set to open in Loulé this week, marking the fourth anniversary of fine art photography gallery In The Pink.
Running from August 8 until early October, ICONS will bring together works by internationally acclaimed photographers including David Yarrow, Albert Watson, Steve Schapiro, Duffy, Terry O’Neill, Tyler Shields, Bastiaan Woudt, and Jacob Gils.
The exhibition features a wide range of photographic styles and subjects, from wildlife and portraiture to fashion, music and documentary photography, highlighting both established masters and contemporary artists.

Among the highlights is the first Loulé presentation of David Yarrow’s latest work, Skyfall, completed earlier this year. Known for his cinematic imagery, Yarrow has built an international reputation through large-scale photographs that blend storytelling with striking compositions.
The exhibition also showcases a selection of Albert Watson’s best-known images. With a career spanning more than five decades, the Scottish photographer is celebrated for his portraits of leading cultural figures and influential fashion photography.
American photojournalist Steve Schapiro is represented through his acclaimed photographs of Muhammad Ali, whilst Duffy’s iconic images of David Bowie from the Aladdin Sane album cover session revisit one of the defining visual moments of the 1970s. Completing the line-up of photographic legends is Terry O’Neill, whose portraits of artists including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, Faye Dunaway and David Bowie have become enduring cultural images.
Alongside these established names, the exhibition includes work by contemporary photographers Tyler Shields, Bastiaan Woudt and Jacob Gils. Shields is known for his cinematic and provocative style, Woudt for his minimalist black-and-white studies of the human form, and Gils for a new series photographed across Portugal, featuring locations from Lisbon to Vilamoura.
“Our gallery has grown beyond everything we imagined over the past four years,” said founders Anja and Phil Burks. “We’re delighted to celebrate this milestone by bringing together such an exceptional group of photographers and sharing their work with the Algarve community.”
ICONS opens on Saturday, August 8, at In The Pink Gallery in Praça da República, Loulé. The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 6pm, and Saturdays, 10am to 2pm, until early October.
