Bowie: The Photographers

This summer, Loulé’s In the Pink Gallery is hosting Bowie: The Photographers, a unique collection of fine art photography celebrating one of the most compelling visual figures in music history.

Featuring works by seven internationally renowned photographers, the exhibition traces Bowie’s evolution from the era of ‘Ziggy Stardust’ to his later, more introspective years.

At the heart of the exhibition is the work of Duffy (Brian Duffy) whose 1973 portrait of Bowie for the Aladdin Sane album cover is known the world over as the “Mona Lisa of Pop”, alongside photographs by Steve Schapiro, Albert Watson, Terry O’Neill, Justin de Villeneuve, and Rankin.

The exhibition also features work by Denis O’Regan, Bowie’s official tour photographer, offering a unique insight into the artist’s life on and off stage.

On display until July 11, the exhibition is open Tuesday to Friday, from 10am to 6pm, and Saturdays, from 10am to 2pm.
